Tricks & Dance Divisions

In POLE STARS UNIVERSE 2026, we celebrate the beauty, strength, and artistry of pole dance in all its forms. Show off your unique style, push your boundaries, and share your passion with a supportive and enthusiastic community of fellow performers. It's your time to be the star you were born to be.

This year’s competition features two exciting categories:

NOVA (Tricks & Dance)

NOVA is our original pole competition format. It combines aerial tricks and grounded choreography to create one seamless performance. The whole pole and stage are your playground.

Divisions:

Beginners

  • Must not have competed in a pole competition above Intermediate level (including open amateur categories)

  • Must not have previously won a Beginners division

  • Routine must be 2 minutes or less

  • Inversions are not permitted (hips above head in any form, including but not limited to inverts, shoulder mounts, static V, Ayesha)

Intermediate

  • Must not have competed in a competition above Advanced level

  • Must not have previously won an Intermediate division

  • Routine must be 2 minutes 30 seconds or less

  • Aerial inversions are not permitted (e.g. aerial inverts, deadlifts, aerial shoulder mounts, muscle-ups)

Advanced

  • Must not have won at an Amateur level or placed in a higher pole competition.

  • Routine must be 3 minutes or less

  • All moves permitted

Elite

  • Must not have placed or won in a Professional-level pole competition

  • Routine must be 3 minutes 30 seconds or less

  • All moves permitted

ECLIPSE (Dance & Basework Only)

ECLIPSE is our dance-focused category that invites you to explore the expressive and artistic side of pole. Dancers can showcase basework, low pole transitions, floorwork, choreography, storytelling, and use of props.

Aerial inversions are not permitted in this division. Only one pole climb is permitted per movement sequence or combo.

Divisions:
Amateur

  • Must not have placed in any open Amateur or higher level pole/dance competition

  • Must not be a choreography class instructor

  • Must not be a paid performer

  • Must not have competed in Semi-Professional or higher competitions

  • Routine must be 2 minutes 30 seconds or less

Semi-Professional

  • May be a choreography instructor or paid performer

  • Must not have placed in a Semi-Professional or higher competition

  • Routine must be 3 minutes or less

Professional

  • Has placed or won in a Semi-Professional or higher level competition

  • Routine must be 3 minutes 30 seconds or less

- $40 AUD for 1 category OR
- $55 AUD for 2 or more categories*
*Note: Competitors may only compete in one category, but we will consider your entry for the categories you select.
