FAQs

I am completely new to pole/aerial and this is my first time at Wanderlust Pole Studio. I want to give pole/aerial a try, what should I do?
The great news is that you can try our Beginners Pole or/and Aerial (Sling & Lyra) class for FREE during the scheduled Trial classes. We usually run Trial classes during week 7 and 8 of each term so that you can have a little sneak peek into Pole/ Aerial fitness. You can check out the dates and times for these classes in the ‘Free Classes’ tab.

However, what if the scheduled times are NOT working for you? During week 1 and 2, You can join in any of our Beginners Pole/Aerial classes we offer for the term. You would just need to pay $35 for a casual class pass in order to join. If you would like to commit further, we are happy to deduct $35 from your class package, and you just pay the difference.

What class is suitable for me – beginner tricks or routine?
Beginners tricks will provide you with all the foundation tricks and skills you need to start your pole journey. If you are looking to combine skills with dance, then the routine class is suitable for you. Both are great to start, but the preference is all up to you.

Am I ready to move up levels next Term?
In order to move up to the next level, you must be able to do all the pre-requisites moves for that level. You can check out the pre-requisites for each level here.
You should also ask your instructor for a level assessment before you change your pole levels.

What do I wear?
Pole Tricks or Pole Routine Class:
We recommend you wear a short sleeve/singlet/ crop top of your choice and above-the-knee shorts. The reason being is that pole dancing requires skin to grip on the pole. For this reason, we also advise our students not to moisturise at least 24 hours prior to class as it can affect your grip! Don’t forget to bring a yoga mat to class!

Heels Choreo, Chair Choreo, Floorwork Class & other Dance Classes
If you are booking a heels choreo, urban pole, chair or twerk class, you will also need:
1. knee pads (you can bring your own or you can purchase it from the Studio);
2. heels or socks (either is ok); and
3. Pole shorts, leggings and comfortable top.

You can ask your instructor for recommendations.

Aerial Lyra or Sling Class
Wear whatever you would be comfortable wearing during a workout!
For Pole: We ask you to wear above knee shorts and short sleeved top for gripping purpose.
For Lyra and Sling: we recommend you wearing long tights/pants and long-sleeved top.

** It is very important to wear an outfit that has no buckles, buttons, zippers, rhinestones, clasps or anything that can potentially snag the fabric of the sling!

Do I need upper body strength and flexibility to Pole dance or join Aerial?
Everybody starts somewhere. Not everyone initially has the upper body strength and flexibility, but this is gradually built over time. All you have to do is start, commit and have fun doing it. IF you are serious about developing flexibility, we also advise you enrol into a Contortion or Splits class.

Do I need to be a certain size and shape to pole dance?
We accept and embrace all shapes and sizes here at Wanderlust Pole Studio. There is no ‘right’ body for pole. Pole is a great way to get fit and build confidence in a safe and supportive space. We celebrate everyone’s uniqueness and foster an environment that empowers women to feel confident in their own skin.

Can I organise a payment plan?
Yes. If you can’t afford to pay upfront for our Pre-paid class package, you can now split the payment in half with our Membership plans. You pay the first half upon purchase and the second half 2 months after the purchase date. Please access the ‘Pricing’ tab to read more information and terms of Membership plans.
